Brain Food Fridays Number 51: Are You Learning The Skills The World Economic Forum Says You Need to Thrive, Week Eight?

Dear Reader,

Are you set for the Holidays? I’m looking forward to reading more books and relaxing. This is Week Eight of the challenge to learn new skills. More on that later in the newsletter.

Feedback is so important. I’ve mentioned a few times that I launched the course, Creativity, Innovation, and the Art of Getting Ideas on a new learning management system. I was also participating in a 10-day challenge to launch your course. Some people participating in the course offered to review my course.

One person contacted me to say the course would take a month to complete. We have blind spots and need people to give us feedback. I created the course and know the topic, so it would be easier for me to complete such a course. I had to go back into the welcome lesson to recommend that participants work on a Bookish Note every day until they work their way through the course. I got actionable feedback.

On another note, I saw an email from MeetEdgar advertising a webinar on how to plan one year’s worth of content in a day. It intrigued me so I signed up for it. It was one of the best decisions I made. Led by Alyssa Coleman, she instructed us to create four pillars of content. Here’s what I came up with.

  1. Skills You Need to Succeed.
  2. Books to Give You a Winning Edge.
  3. Problem/Solution Interview.
  4. People to Learn From.

People who love my work will look at the pillars and will notice something. The topics are not really new for my blog. I write about some of them all the time. However, what is new, is that there is structure again in what I do on the blog. I have a system once again. Readers will know what to expect. I’m mapping out, which days, I’ll share what. I have an idea floating around in my head though.

Here are the skills I’ll write about.
