If you want to bring an appetizer along for Thanksgiving Day (or offer one to guests as they arrive at your shindig), there are a lot of options! Today, I’m sharing five favorites from our household.

Howdy, Reader,

Nothing says Thanksgiving like a good appetizer to get the gathering started.

While I don’t want our guests to fill up on snacks, I do want them to enjoy themselves and have some nibbles before we sit down to eat, especially if I think the meal might take a bit longer than originally planned.

So. Appetizers tend to be a good idea on Thanksgiving, so long as you’re not overloading guests with them. You can also bring one as a guest, too!

Here are a few delicious ideas for you:

  • Thanksgiving Cheese Board: Customize this to your tastebuds and liking! Serve it with various crackers, fruits, and other snacky things. Really, you should use this as a template and make your own.
  • Baked Brie with Cranberry Chutney: This requires baking once you arrive at your destination, but if there’s space in the oven, it’s an excellent choice! Crispy puff pastry is wrapped around gooey brie and served with a homemade cranberry chutney for the perfect bite.
  • Crunchy Green Bean Casserole Bites with Creamy Dipping Gravy: If you’re a traditionalist when it comes to sides, you should make this twist on the classic casserole! It’s a hand-held rendition that’s perfect for dipping.
  • Roasted Grape Bruschetta with Whipped Feta: Honestly, the combination of sweet-creamy-salty-crunchy in this bruschetta is something else. And not only is this tasty, but it looks REALLY fancy while also requiring minimal effort.
  • Sage Pumpkin Hummus: This is a favorite in our household, taking traditional hummus and twisting it into a fall-flavored situation, thanks to both pumpkin and sage. Serve it with pita chips or veggies for dipping and enjoy!

Which appetizer sounds best to you?

As always, happy cooking and baking!

Erin
