How To Kickstart Your Kindness Habit And Improve Your Well-being
Dear Reader,
In this week’s newsletter, the 127th issue, I’m writing about how to be kinder to yourself. In the last two weeks I’ve learned some important lessons. In 2013, I bought the PhotoReading home study course. It took me a few years to actually go through the program. I finally set aside time to absorb the information. In fact, I went through the program four or five times and I didn’t understand the concept.
I finally decided to invest in the live PhotoReading course. It took place on Zoom just over a week ago. After the end of the program, I still didn’t feel confident that I understood what I was doing when it came to PhotoReading. Another person from the course and I decided to be accountability partners. I used the PhotoReading five-step model to PhotoRead The Art of Impossible. However, I didn’t feel like I got it. This was very frustrating.
I called Learning Strategies because they offer program coaching. The coach and I talked things through. I only did the first three steps of the model, then I decided I really wasn’t getting it. Why are we so impatient, wanting instant results? The other issue is that I was giving myself a hard time because I didn’t feel like I was in the “resource state” necessary to PhotoRead.
The coach reminded me that I didn’t have to follow the process perfectly to get results. Why are we so hard on ourselves? All through the course, Paul Scheele reminded us not to berate ourselves. And here I was doing just that. The way Learning Strategies served me, taught me that some clients may need extra help to use your products and services. It’s important to act with grace.
