๐Ÿ—๏ธ Keyword Discrepancy Review! Part 1

Happy Thursday!!

Last week, I shared my thoughts on keyword discrepancies. If you missed that email, you can catch it HERE.

I received a lot of emails from you all with “questionable keywords” to look into so I am going to choose a couple to share with the rest of you over the next 2-3 weeks.

Here are two keywords I discuss in further detail:

Remember, there are a few things to consider when choosing a keyword to go after. Those things are:

  • User intent- is it informational or transactional? These two often battle with eachother and can affect the amount of traffic you may expect to see from a keyword. Sometimes we will never know so it might be worth going for regardless. Try to use your common sense.
  • Global vs. US search setting- I know I mentioned in the course to keep volumes “global” since we want to attract users from around the world if possible HOWEVER, if the US volume is VERY low, it may not be worth going after regardless of the easy difficulty level & high global volume. (Ad revenue is important to consider too!) This is a tricky thing and does depend on the keyword but is something to keep in mind!

Important takeaway!! If you see two keywords in Keysearch that are almost identical with identical search volumes (wine popsicle AND wine popsicles both at 1k) it’s best to assume they have been grouped and the total search volume is 1000. โ€‹

Next week, I will discuss some others!!
