Overall lessons learned:

  1. Keysearch is pretty on point with their volumes (besides the grouping close variant issue I talk about).

    • Just make sure you always check out the SERPs and do a bit of math to determine a more accurate traffic estimate. It’s USUALLY about one third of the total volume (not taking product listings and ads into consideration).
    • Also make sure to search the right country. (United States)
    • Never forget user intent.
  2. When in doubt, go for HIGHER VOLUME keywords! Don’t be afraid to have loftier ranking goals b/c you just never know!

    • Unless you’re pumping out 20 or more posts a month, targeting lower volume keywords all the time will lead to superrrr slowww growth IMO.
    • Mix it up a bit and target higher volume keywords even if the competition isn’t promising. Think long-term growth!

Until next week, keep up the awesome keyword research!
