🗝️ Have you lost traffic since the last Google update??

Today I want to discuss Google’s helpful content update that was released a few weeks ago. It seems there are some people who experienced drops in traffic which is never what we want after an update.

First know that small traffic drops are normal. Just as long as you are continuously growing over the year. Personally, my blog experienced a small drop so I am not going to go crazy updating or deleting content, but I WILL keep an eye on things. And to do that, I need to analyze things a bit.

If you’ve had a LARGER drop that definitely need some deeper analyzing.

So into GA4 we go…..😳

Make sure to set your calendar from September 14th (when the update was released) to today. Then click “Compare” and let it automatically compare the previous time period.

We want to analyze which ORGANIC content dropped the most over this time period. Ignore seasonal content as that’s likely to happen going from summer into fall.

Then, take those URL’s and pop them into your keyword tool and see whick keywords have dropped! Are they relevant? Hitting keyword intent? Can we optimize for them better?
