BFW: How Many Books Would You Like to Read Monthly?

Dear Reader,

Listen to the Newsletter

Applied Knowledge Is Power! I’m Going to Help You Gain More Knowledge Faster through Strategic Reading

In the New Year, my goal is to help you read strategically, so you can:

  • Read more books.
  • Access hidden wisdom.
  • Gain more knowledge.
  • Stay ahead of the competition.
  • Quickly determine if a book is worth reading.

You can gather so much knowledge from the right book in 30 minutes a day. Anyone can find 30 minutes a day to work on an important goal.

I surveyed 40 leaders, and they unanimously said reading is vitally important. Reading Preferences:

  • Traditional book reading is still valued, with 28 respondents emphasizing the importance of reading books.
  • While all respondents acknowledged the importance of reading, there was a preference for diverse learning methods, including audiobooks and podcasts, showcasing a recognition of the varied ways leaders consume information.
  • Reading is a fundamental way to stay informed and continuously learn about various topics, including business, leadership, and industry trends.
  • Many respondents mentioned that reading books, articles, or listening to audiobooks is essential for gaining knowledge, insights, and expertise in diverse domains.

A top New Year’s Resolution is to read more books. The thing with New Year’s resolutions is that they often fail. According to the US News and World Report, the failure rate for New Year’s resolutions is said to be about 80% with most people losing their resolve and motivation just weeks later in mid-February.

Your resolution to read more books fails because you haven’t built the capacity needed to read more books. You cannot expect things to change if you’re doing things the old way. If you lead a busy lifestyle, and you could not incorporate reading into your day, what will be different in 2024?

By February, you’re feeling badly because once again, you failed at your New Year’s resolutions. You’re feeling disappointed with yourself. And you go into a negative spiral.

You have a ton of unread books on your bookshelf that possibly have the information you need to improve work and life. But they’ll remain unread unless you do something different.
