BFW: Is 10X Easier Goals Than 2X?
Dear Reader,
Welcome to another edition of Brain Food Wednesdays, your weekly intellectual feast. In the 237th issue, I’m writing asking if 10X goals are easier to accomplish than 2X goals.
I’m taking part in a 30 books in 30 days reading challenge I created for myself. This time around, I’m reading books based on my instincts. Two books I’ve read so far are 10X is Easier Than 2X by Benjamin Hardy and Dan Sullivan and The Art of Impossible by Steven Kotler. I read them one after another and saw some similarities.
The common theme for both books is setting and achieving impossible goals. Most people don’t set big enough goals, so they never realize their true potential. The strategies used to achieve 10X goals differ from the ones to achieve 2X goals. With 2X goals, you grow incrementally, and 10X goals you grow exponentially. Which would you prefer? To achieve 10X goals requires an innovative approach, and only one or two paths will take you there.
When you engage in 10X thinking and achieve those impossible goals, you rise to a new level and you become a different person. I created 10X goals, and it’s very scary for me. Sometimes I feel I’m not making any progress. However, in the past, it may appear as if nothing is happening and then suddenly, BOOM. It’s like a bamboo plant. For years, nothing. Then the plant shoots up and can grow three feet in a day.
The point is, that great things take time. Don’t give up on your dreams. Set some 10X goals and see what happens.
