🗝️ Results From A Recent Update! (Part 2)

Hi there!

Last week I shared an over-the-shoulder view of what I look at before updating a post. You can watch that and all my previous emails HERE!

Today I am excited to share with you the results of my update after about 2 weeks!

Terrible. ZERO # 1 rankings. This recipe was one of the FIRST recipes I published on my website 6 years ago. I updated since then but did not change the focus of my keywords until last week.

I changed the Title from:

“Sweet Empanadas Wtih Cherry Cheesecake Filling”

to

“Crescent Roll Blueberry Cream Cheese Danish”

to

“Sweet Dessert Empanadas”

I also changed the photos and some headers & formatting. (I can share the before and after post with you if you’re interested!)

Now, this is what my rankings are looking like…less than 2 WEEKS later!

Look at all those #1 rankings compared to before! 😍

I am now in the top recipe snippets (#2 spot) for one of the keywords at 1.5k monthy searches. The second keyword below is showing me that I am in a top position in Google but ahrefs has not updating this data yet so that’s exciting too since those keywords total over 2.5k in monthly searches!

Note**I will KEEP an eye on this post to ensure it does not drop. If it does, it is NOT matching user intent and NOT what people are looking for and I will just have to try again.

So with all that said, there are a few key points here:

1. Never give up on a keyword.
2. Think outside the box and get creative with your titles.
3. Using a tracking tool like ahrefs or semrush is what keeps me SO motivated when I’m feeling burned out.
4. Tracking and Analyzing after the fact is equally if not more important than keysearch researching. *(I would have never thought to name it “Dessert Empanadas” if I didn’t see I was already ranking (super low) for this keyword.)
